The songs tend to start the same way: Something — or more often someone — turning out to be extraordinary. Someone with a fight, a fistful of contradictions or just a camera.

Dave's been at this long enough to know which details matter. The result sits somewhere without a convenient name. Not quite folk. Not quite blues. Both somewhere underneath. Sharp in places. Occasionally funny. Sometimes not.

In 2022 he joined folk-rock festival regulars Leatherat — over twenty years in, still turning up the volume at the festivals that matter. In 2016, he founded and still runs the monthly Banbury Blues Club jam night, with musicians and music lovers coming from far and wide to holler, jam and network.
